Fall grilled cheese

Yield: 3

Fall grilled cheese

  • 1 Large Granny Smith Apple thinly slices (I use a mandoline slicer to get super thin slices)
  • 6 slices of sour dough bread
  • 6 slices of Sharp white cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices of Cooked bacon
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • Butter for spreading on the bread slices

  1. Place a skillet over medium low heat.
  2. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place 3 slices of bread butter side down on the skillet.
  4. Place 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of bacon, desired amount of apple slices on each slice of bread in the skillet.
  5. At this point I usually either put the lid back on the skillet of tent the pan with aluminum foil so the cheese melts. (The cook time on this side of the sandwich should be approximately 5-6 minutes)
  6. Divide the apple butter and spread on the remaining 3 slices of bread and then place on top of the sandwiches in the pan. Then immediately flip the sandwiches over and cook for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the pan, cool and enjoy!
